Thank you for your interest in submitting an abstract for the 2024 Southern California Dissemination Implementation and Improvement Science Symposium.

The DII Symposium is seeking abstracts that address the following themes: research/practice/policy partnerships, community engagement, healthcare delivery, public health, and regional and public health systems and agencies.

Abstracts may report on implementation or improvement studies, initiatives, methods or other activities related to partnered dissemination, implementation, or improvement science to improve health. Priority will be given to abstracts that involve partnership of community engagement with healthcare or public health delivery systems or community based organizations in Souther California.

Abstract Submission Guidelines:
- Abstract word limit is 350 words. This does not include the title and section headings. Please note that abstracts that exceed the word limit will not be considered.

- Abstracts must conform to the following:
o Background and Aims: Describe the context and motivation for the work and state its primary aim(s).
o Methods: Describe the methods, including design, setting, population, measures, data source(s) and analytic procedures, as appropriate.
o Results: Describe the key findings. Abstracts reporting empirical studies should provide actual results (i.e. abstracts should state "results will be presented").
o Conclusions: Summarize key implications of the findings for partnership-oriented implementation and improvement and implications for practice, research, education, or policy.

- Evaluation criteria include: (1) quality, completeness and significance of the project; (2) implications for the continued development of partnered DII science and its benefits; and (3) quality of the abstract.

- The abstract database supports text only. Do not use bolding, underlines, columns, bullet points, tables, graphs, charts or scientific symbols.

- Published or unpublished work, and Work In Progress projects may be submitted.

- List in the abstract file the names of all authors and indicate the name of the presenting author. Please note that the presenting author must be available at the poster display during the designated poster session. The poster session is designed as an opportunity for authors to speak with the symposium attendees about their work.

- Only one abstract can be submitted per individual as first author. However, a researcher can be listed as a co-author in other abstracts. This will allow the first author to be present at each poster.

Abstracts not submitted via the abstract submission website will not be accepted.

Abstracts will be accepted in two categories:
1. Completed Work
Presentations on implementation or improvement studies, projects, methods or other activities that apply DII methods to practice. Priority will be given to abstracts that involve partnership and community engagement in Southern California healthcare, public health systems and delivery.

 2. Works-in-Progress
The Works-in-Progress Abstract Submission provides the opportunity to describe work underway that involves implementation or improvement science applied to health delivery system and population health delivery problems. The goal is to offer the opportunity for feedback from health system leaders, individuals with specific methods skills, or others.

Abstract Submission Deadline: Monday, April 5, 2024 at 5 pm PST

Abstract Acceptance Notification: Wednesday, May 15, 2024
